Abstract

Skripsi ini berjudul “Penerapan Kode Etik Pustakawan di UPT Perpustakaan
Universitas Diponegoro”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui
bagaimana penerapan kode etik pustakawan di UPT Perpustakaan Universitas
Diponegoro Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus.
Sedangkan jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif karena
permasalahan yang diteliti yaitu penerapan kode etik pustakawan, kajian tersebut
lebih berhubungan ke permasalahan sosial dan penulis juga ingin menggali
permasalahan tersebut. Informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 9 orang yang
merupakan pustakawan yang bekerja di UPT Perpustakaan Universitas
Diponegoro dan pemustaka. Analisis data menggunakan teknik reduksi data. Dan
hasil dari penelitian ini adalah kode etik pustakawan sudah diterapkan dengan
baik dilihat dari beberapa aspek, yaitu sikap dasar pustakawan, hubungan
pustakawan dengan pemustaka dan hubungan pustakawan dengan rekan kerja.
Meski penerapan kode etik pustakawannya sudah baik, namun terdapat juga
kendalanya yaitu kurangnya pemahaman beberapa pustakawan terhadap kode etik
pustakawan dan kurang tegasnya sanksi kode etik pustakawan.
This thesis entitled "Implementation of the Code of Ethics of Librarians at UPT
Library of Diponegoro University". The purpose of this study is to find out how
the application of code of ethics librarian at UPT Diponegoro University Library
Semarang. This study uses a case study approach. While this type of research is
descriptive qualitative research because the problem under study is the
application of the code of ethics librarian, the study is more related to social
problems and the author also wants to explore the problem. There are 9
informants in this study who are librarians who work at UPT Library University
of Diponegoro and user. Data analysis using data reduction techniques. And the
result of this research is the code of ethics librarian has been applied well seen
from some aspects, those are basic attitude of librarian, librarian relationship
with user and librarian relationship with co-worker. Although the implementation
of the code of ethics librarian is good, but there are also obstacles that is the lack
of understanding of some librarians against the code of ethics librarians and less
strictly sanctions code of ethics librarians.
