Abstract

The XYZ Quarry Office Building consumes 41.84 kWh of electricity per day, equivalent to 15,272 kWh per year. Dependence on electricity supplied by PLN results in high operational costs, necessitating more efficient and sustainable alternative energy sources. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of implementing a rooftop solar power system (PLTS) as an electricity source for office buildings. Technical simulations were conducted using Helioscope software, taking into account the roof conditions, module orientation, and solar irradiation potential at the research site. Economic feasibility analysis was conducted using the Payback Period, Net Present Value (NPV), and Profitability Index (PI) methods. The simulation results show that a roof area of 474.41 m² can accommodate 54 solar modules with a capacity of 550 Wp and an installed capacity of 29.70 kWp. The solar power system is capable of generating 44,505.7 kWh of electricity per year, which is greater than the existing electricity needs of the office. Cash flow analysis shows annual cost savings of IDR 21,537,450, annual operating and maintenance costs of IDR 2,544,471, and annual net cash flow of IDR 18,992,979. The financial analysis results show an NPV of IDR 20,076,884, a PI of 1.078, and a Discounted Payback Period of 22.1 years. From an environmental perspective, the implementation of the solar power plant has the potential to reduce carbon emissions by 12.98 tons of CO₂ per year or 259.6 tons of CO₂ over a 20-year operational period.
