Abstract

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is a critical aspect of the work
environment that affects employee quality of life. In an effort to improve OHS, early
detection of potential dangers is important. OHS detection of Trangkil sugar factory
employees is carried out manually. The detection results are in the form of a physical
report and sent to HRD. This process is inefficient because security officers handle
detection. Meanwhile, security officers must regulate traffic in the factory yard.
Moreover, there is still the possibility of human error when detecting OHS in
employees. So a solution was created so that this problem could be overcome by
creating a factory detection portal system.
Application development is carried out using the RAD (rapid application
development) method, starting with conducting a needs analysis and designing the
application interface according to the results of this analysis. After the design has
been created, the application is created on a desktop basis using the Python
programming language, the Tkinter framework, and for the database using MySQL.
The final result of this final project is a 13-page application that can support
the OHS detection factory portal system with features to view the detection process
and record employee entry and exit history. The features in the application also meet
expectations and are approved by users, namely 90.5% for the OHS detection feature
and 90% for the employee entry and exit history recording feature.
