Abstract
Learning English at the A2 level can be challenging, especially for learners who struggle with vocabulary and reading comprehension. To address this issue, this study developed an
anthology of short stories in English titled ‘Kaleidoscope of Careers,’ specifically designed for A2-level learners. The book contains ten short stories themed around various professions, accompanied by visual character illustrations and audio narrations accessible via QR codes. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method by Borg and Gall (1989), this study involved planning, designing, testing, and revising the book based on feedback from students and experts. The research findings indicate that the integration of visual, text, and audio elements helps learners engage more deeply with the content,
improve vocabulary understanding, and enhance reading and listening skills. Learners responded positively to the stories, vocabulary tables, visual design, and audio features. This product demonstrates that multimodal media, when designed to suit learners' levels and interests, can effectively support the English language learning process for students.
