Abstract
Students' academic achievement and process can be influenced by self-confidence. The results of preliminary studies on Psychology students class 2023 Diponegoro University Semarang illustrate the existence of problems in student self-confidence. Self-confidence does not necessarily appear in individuals, one of the factors is parental social support. So this study aims to find empirical evidence of the relationship between parental social support and self-confidence in students of the Faculty of Psychology, Diponegoro University Semarang class of 2023. Sampling using convenience sampling using 147 students and data collected using a self-confidence scale (α = 0.904; 31 items) and a parental social support scale (α = 0.961; 47 items). Data were analyzed by simple regression. The results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between parental social support and student self-confidence. Male students' self-confidence is higher than female students.
