Abstract

Putri Hanan Nabilah. 2022."Adolescent Problems Described in the Great Teacher Onizuka Film Series by Director Kazuhisa Imai". This research uses a movie series entitled Great Teacher Onizuka as a material object and the problem of adolescence as the formal object. This study aims to analyze the narrative elements and teenage problems depicted in the Great Teacher Onizuka film series by director Kazuhisa Imai. Literature sociology method is used in this research. Besides, this research is classified as a type of library research.The movie narrative structural theory by Himawan Pratista is used to analyse the narrative elements and semiotic theories by Roland Barthes and social psychology theories by Gordon W. Allport are used to analyse teenage problems.
The results of the analysis in this study are that there is a narrative structure that includes a three-act structure, narrative relationships with space, and narrative relationships with time. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that there are 4 teenage problems depicted in the Great Teacher Onizuka film series consisting of 2 external problems and 2 internal problems. The impact of these adolescent problems makes the characters lonely, pessimistic, doubtful, and makes their social interactions limited, false, and deteriorated.
