Abstract

Background : Maternal mortality cases in Grobogan Regency increased from 2018-2021, from 31 cases to 82 cases. Hypertension is the second cause of maternal death in 11 cases. The distribution of maternal mortality cases in Grobogan Regency is highest in Pulokulon District. Based on preliminary data conducted in Pulokulon District from 50 pregnant women, it was found that 30% of pregnant women had hypertension.
Objective : To determine the risk factors associated with the incidence of hypertension at pregnant women in Antenatal Care (ANC) during the Covid-19 pandemic in Pulokulon District, Grobogan Regency.
Method : This type of research is analytic observational with cross sectional design. The sample size is 94 respondents with simple random sampling technique. The sample criteria included pregnant women with a gestational age of 20 weeks, having a KIA book, recorded in the report of a midwife/puskesmas, and willing to be a respondent. Data analysis was done by univariate, bivariate, and multivariate.
Results : The results showed that income (p=0.001; RP 7.57; 95% CI 2.22-25.76), history of hypertension (p=0.006; RP 4.53; 95% CI 1.63-12.62), history of exposure pesticides (p=0.016; RP 5.30; 95% CI 1.42-19.78), fruit and vegetable consumption (p=0.002; RP 6.19; 95% CI 1.92-19.98), physical activity ( p=0.004; RP 6.75; 95%
CI 1.79-25.36) and level of anxiety (p=0.001; RP 5.86; 95% CI 2.06-16.67) were associated with the incidence of hypertension in pregnant women.
Conclusion: Variables that contribute strongly as risk factors for the incidence of hypertension in pregnant women during the Covid-19 pandemic in Pulokulon District include income, history of hypertension, physical activity, and anxiety levels. The probability is 97.6%.
