Abstract

Professional development of librarians as part of strengthening the profession and enhance credibility. Increased professionalism of librarians is required as the role of professional associations such as the Bachelor of Library and Information Science Association. This research will explain the contribution of the Indonesian Institute of Library and Information Sciences in the development of librarians. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Techniques of data retrieval by interview to the informant selected through snowball sampling. Interview results were analyzed using thematic analysis. The results of this research analysis, involvement in professional development of librarians ISIPII namely the institutional aspects, the discussion of strategic issues, scientific, professional strengthening, and policy advocacy in library and information science.
Pengembangan profesionalisme pustakawan merupakan bagian dari penguatan profesi dan meningkatkan kredibilitas. Peningkatan profesionalisme pustakawan diperlukan juga peran dari asosiasi profesi seperti Ikatan Sarjana Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi (ISIPII). Penelitian ini akan menjelaskan kontribusi Ikatan Sarjana Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi Indonesia dalam pengembangan pustakawan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengambilan data dengan cara wawancara kepada informan yang dipilih melalui snowball sampling. Hasil wawancara dianalisis menggunakan thematic analysis. Hasil analisis penelitian ini, keterlibatan ISIPII pada pengembangan profesionalisme pustakawan yaitu pada aspek kelembagaan, pembahasan isu strategis, kajian ilmiah, penguatan profesional, dan advokasi kebijakan dalam keilmuan perpustakaan dan informasi.
