Abstract

This research aims to determine the contribution of art archives for the development of the artist profession in Indonesian Visual Art Archive (IVAA) Yogyakarta. The research methods used in this study are qualitative research. The data retrieval technique that is done is observation and interview, the interview is done with a semi structured and involve as many as 5 informant namely the Indonesian Visual Art Archive (IVAA) Yogyakarta and the artists who use Art Archive at the Indonesian Visual Art Archive (IVAA) Yogyakarta. The Data obtained is then analyzed using thematic analysis. The results of this analysis showed that the contributions of art archives in Indonesian Visual Art Archive (IVAA) Yogyakarta found 3 (three) themes, namely information sources, learning materials, and authentic evidence. The source of the information being the first theme, which is meant by the source of information in this research is the efforts of artists to know new things that can be used as research materials in the development of science for artists to create A new work. The source of information there are 3 (three) things to develop the profession of the artist through reference, literacy and dramatic reading. Learning Data becomes the second theme of the analysis results. The learning material in question is an art archive that is often used by artists consisting of material knowledge and development of art and technical and concept mastery materials. The ogenic evidence becomes the last theme found in the analysis. This research is beneficial in providing new knowledge related to the development of the artist profession in making a masterpiece.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi arsip seni bagi pengembangan profesi seniman di Indonesian Visual Art Archive (IVAA) Yogyakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengambilan data yang dilakukan yaitu observasi dan wawancara, wawancara yang dilakukan dengan semi terstruktur dan melibatkan sebanyak 5 informan yaitu arsiparis Indonesian Visual Art Archive (IVAA) Yogyakarta dan seniman-seniman yang menggunakan arsip seni di Indonesian Visual Art Archive (IVAA) Yogyakarta. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis tematik. Hasil analisis ini menunjukkan bahwa kontribusi arsip seni di Indonesian Visual Art Archive (IVAA) Yogyakarta menemukan 3 (tiga) tema yaitu sumber informasi, bahan pembelajaran, dan bukti otentik. Sumber informasi menjadi tema pertama, yang dimaksud dengan sumber informasi dalam penelitian ini adalah upaya seniman untuk mengetahui hal baru yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan penelitian dalam pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan bagi seniman untuk menciptakan suatu karya barunya. Sumber informasi terdapat 3 (tiga) hal untuk mengembangkan profesi seniman yaitu melalui referensi, literasi dan dramatik reading. Bahan pembelajaran menjadi tema kedua dari hasil analisis. Bahan pembelajaran yang dimaksud adalah arsip seni yang sering digunakan oleh seniman terdiri dari bahan pengetahuan dan perkembangan seni dan bahan penguasaan konsep dan teknis. Bukti otentik menjadi tema yang terakhir yang ditemukan dalam analisis. Penelitian ini bermanfaat dalam memberikan pengetahuan baru terkait dengan pengembangan profesi seniman dalam membuat suatu karya.
