Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of students of the Faculty of Humanity,
Diponegoro University. The research method used in this study is a qualitative
method. The data retrieval technique is done by semi-structured interviews
involving six informants. The data obtained are then analyzed using thematic
analysis. The analysis shows that Students of Faculty of humanity Diponegoro
University generally master several aspects of digital literacy, especially in the
ability to understand internet searching, that is utilizing search engines in
information search, understand the internet as a source of information, connect
and use the internet to do some activities. understand how hyperlinks work even though don't understand the meaning of hypertext and how it works and know the difference in information on the internet and media in the aspect of hypertextual navigation capabilities. On the content evaluation capabilities, can be understood the characteristics used as references, cross check information obtained and use the FAQ on a website to help them obtain information. Capable to use keywords to make it easier to conduct information searches, utilize other sources of information other than the internet in the aspect of preparation of knowledge capabilities, but students did not join discussion groups on the internet
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan mahasiswa S-1 angkatan 2018 Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Diponegoro. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Teknik pengambilan data yang dilakukan yaitu wawancara semi terstruktur dengan melibatkan enam informan. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan thematic analysis. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa S-1 angkatan 2018 Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Diponegoro secara umum menguasai beberapa aspek literasi digital terutama dalam kemampuan memahami internet searching yaitu memanfaatkan search engine dalam pencarian informasi, memahami internet sebagai sumber informasi, penghubung dan memanfaatkan internet untuk melakukan beberapa aktivitas. Memahami cara kerja hyperlink meskipun belum memahami mengenai pengertian hypertext dan cara kerjanya serta mengetahui perbedaan informasi di internet dan media cetak dalam aspek kemampuan navigasi hypertekstual. Pada kemampuan evaluasi konten, dapat dipahami karakteristik website yang digunakan sebagai referensi, melakukan cross check terhadap informasi yang diperolehnya dan memanfaatkan FAQ di suatu website untuk membantunya memperoleh informasi. Mampu menggunakan keyword untuk memudahkan dalam melakukan pencarian informasi, memanfaatkan sumber informasi lain selain dari internet dalam aspek kemampuan penyusunan pengetahuan, namun beberapa mahasiswa tidak bergabung dengan grup diskusi di internet.
