Abstract

This research has purpose to study about the role of Regional Archive and
Library Office of Semarang in the activities of authentication and electronic
archive management. The method which used in this research is qualitative
research. Qualitative research is the process of capturing information and actual
condition in the life of an object that is connected with a problem both from a
theoretical and practical point of view. The technique which used to collecting the datas are observation, interview and literature. The interview technique were conducted in semi-stuctural manner and involved 3 (three) informants, the are the head of archives, the archivist and digitalized file officer of Regional Archive and Library Office of Semarang. The datas which obtained then analyzed using thematic analysis. This analysis has 5 (five) themes, namely the creation of archives, guidelines for authentication, dynamic textual file management, electronic dynamic file management results of authentication and authenticity. The creation of archives became the first theme that influenced the authentication guidelines. Creation of archives through the digitization process. An archive that has been digitized to maintain the authenticity of the archive requires authentication. Authentication requires reference in the form of authentication guidelines. The second theme is the authentication guidelines that affect the theme of textual dynamic archive management. The authentication guide is devided into two stages, namely the stages before being managed using the e-archive system and the stage after being managed using the e-archive system. The third teme, dynamic textual archive management that influences the management of electronic dynamic records as a result of authentication. Textual dynamic archive management is devided into two, namely dynamic active tectual file management and dynamic textual inactive archives. After doing the management of dynamic textual archives then proceed with the authentication of electronic dynamic records from the authentication. The fourth theme, the authentication of electronic dynamic records resulting from the authentication that affects the last theme is authenticity. The management of electronic dynamic records from authentication using the E-archive system of Semarang Regency. The activities that have been carried out in the end aim to produce electronic archives which are guaranteed its authenticity
