Abstract

This study examines information literacy by Generation X, Y, and Z in the preparation of scientific papers. Information literacy researched using a relational perspective. This study aims to determine information literacy generation X, Y, and Z in the preparation of scientific papers at Diponegoro University. The research method used in this study is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The results of the analysis show that information literacy has an important role for three generations in the preparation of scientific papers. Because scientific papers have scientific values that need to be accounted for. Generation X, Y, and Z have carried out information literacy activities during the preparation of scientific papers. This can be seen from the activities carried out. Such as identification of scientific information needs, scientific information search, scientific information utilization, and scientific information communication. Generation X, Y, and Z are able to identify scientific information needs that are relevant and as needed. They also search information effectively and efficiently. No less important than information literacy is the use of information technology. Generation X, Y, and Z have utilized the scientific information obtained to benefit the community. They apply information literacy by publishing scientific papers produced. Information literacy activities carried out by three generations in the preparation of scientific papers are influenced by technological and professional developments.

Penelitian ini meneliti tentang literasi informasi oleh Generasi X, Y, dan Z dalam penyusunan karya tulis ilmiah. Literasi informasi yang diteliti menggunakan perspektif relasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui literasi informasi generasi X, Y, dan Z dalam penyusunan karya tulis ilmiah di Universitas Diponegoro. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa literasi informasi memiliki peran yang penting bagi tiga generasi dalam penyusunan karya tulis ilmiah. Karena karya tulis ilmiah
memiliki nilai keilmiahan yang perlu dipertanggungjawabkan. Generasi X, Y, dan Z telah melakukan kegiatan literasi informasi selama penyusunan karya tulis ilmiah. Hal ini terlihat dari kegiatan yang dilakukan. Seperti identifikasi kebutuhan informasi ilmiah, penelusuran informasi ilmiah, pemanfaatan
informasi ilmiah, dan komunikasi informasi ilmiah. Generasi X, Y, dan Z mampu mengidentifikasi kebutuhan informasi ilmiah yang relevan dan sesuai kebutuhan. Mereka juga melakukan penelusuran informasi dengan efektif dan efisien. Hal yang tak kalah penting dari literasi informasi adalah pemanfaatan
teknologi informasi. Generasi X, Y, dan Z telah memanfaatkan informasi ilmiah yang didapatkan agar bermanfaat bagi masyarakat. Mereka menerapkan literasi informasi dengan mempublikasikan karya tulis ilmiah yang dihasilkan. Kegiatan literasi informasi yang dilakukan oleh tiga generasi dalam penyusunan karya tulis ilmiah dipengaruhi oleh perkembangan teknologi dan profesi.
