Abstract

This research aims to determine the contribution of local authors to the
preservation of local content in the Department of Libraries and the city archives
of Salatiga. The research method used in this study is qualitative with a narrative
approach. In this study, researchers used three informant with a snowball
sampling technique consisting of one key informant and two additional informant.
Data retrieval in this study uses semi-structured interview techniques. The
collected Data is then analyzed using thematic analysis to identify the theme
arising. Analysis results showed that local writers have contributions and roles in
the preservation of local content in the Department of Libraries and Archives of
the city of Salatiga. The background of motivation in the individual local writers
is the existence of socialization process on the cross generation. Experience and
knowledge of local writers tacit knowledge that has been transferred to explicit
knowledge also build organizational memory of Salatiga City. Some of the media
used to pour local writer's explicit knowledge are books, documentary films, and
songs. Through the activities conducted, local writers helped carry out the
mission of the Library and Archives of the city of Salatiga in preserving the
culture that is in the city of Salatiga.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi penulis lokal terhadap
pelestarian local content di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Salatiga.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan
pendekatan naratif. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan tiga informan
dengan teknik snowball sampling yang terdiri atas satu informan kunci dan dua
informan tambahan. Pengambilan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik
wawancara semi-terstruktur. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis
menggunakan analisis tematik untuk mengidentifikasi tema yang timbul. Hasil
analisis menunjukan bahwa penulis lokal memiliki kontribusi dan peran dalam
pelestarian local content di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Salatiga.
Latar belakang timbulnya motivasi dalam diri individu penulis lokal adalah
adanya proses socialization pada lintas generasi. Pengalaman dan pengetahuan
penulis lokal berupa tacit knowledge yang telah ditransfer menjadi explicit
knowledge turut membangun organizational memori Kota Salatiga. Beberapa
media yang digunakan untuk menuangkan explicit knowledge penulis lokal yaitu
buku, film dokumenter, dan lagu. Melalui kegiatan yang dilakukan, penulis lokal
turut membantu menjalankan misi Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota
Salatiga dalam melestarikan kebudayaan yang ada di Kota Salatiga.
