Abstract

Skripsi ini membahas tentang sejauh mana perbandingan motivasi remaja laki-laki
dan perempuan dalam pemanfaatan koleksi pada balai layanan Grhatama Pustaka
BPAD DIY. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori motivasi dalam pemanfaatan
koleksi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasi remaja yaitu social self, emotional
self, reflective self, physical self, creative self, cognitive self, dan sexual self.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui sejauhmana motivasi remaja laki-laki dan
perempuan dalam pemanfaatan koleksi pada balai layanan Grhatama Pustaka
BPAD DIY. Desain penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah
penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis komparatif deskripsi. Sampel yang diambil
berjumlah 63 responden dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling.
Analisis data menggunakan uji mann whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan
terdapat perbedaan motivasi remaja laki-laki dan perempuan pada pemanfaatan
koleksi tentang fashion, pemanfaatan koleksi tentang kebudayaan populer
dimasyarakat, pemanfaatan koleksi tentang kesehatan emosional, pemanfaatan
koleksi tentang praktek agama, pemanfaatan koleksi tentang dunia kerja,
pemanfaatan koleksi untuk mengerjakan tugas atau yang berhubungan dengan
mata pelajaran sekolah dan pemanfaatan koleksi yang mendukung kegiatan
sekolah. Dapat disimpulkan ditolak, sehingga terdapat perbedaan yang
signifikan terhadap motivasi remaja laki-laki dan perempuan dalam pemanfaatan
koleksi perpustakaan umum di Balai Layanan Grhatama Pustaka BPAD DIY.
This thesis discusses the extent of comparing the motivation of adolescent boys
and girls in the use of collections at the service center Grhatama Pustaka BPAD
DIY. This research uses motivational theory to meet the information needs of
adolescents, namely social self, emotional self, reflective self, physical self,
creative self, cognitive self, and sexual self. The purpose of this study is to
determine the extent to which the motivation of adolescent boys and girls in the
use of collections at the service center Grhatama Pustaka BPAD DIY. The
research design used in this research is quantitative research description with
comparative type. Samples taken amounted to 63 respondents by using purposive
sampling technique. Data analysis using mann whitney test. The results showed a
difference of motivation adolescent boys and girls in the current collections of
fashion, the use of a collection of popular culture in the community, the use of a
collection of emotional health, the use of a collection of religious practices, the
use of a collection of the world of work, the use of the collection to the task or
deals with school subjects and the use of collections that support school activities.
It can be concluded that is rejected, so there is a significant difference the
motivation of adolescent boys and girls in the use of collections at the service
center Grhatama Pustaka BPAD DIY.
