Abstract

Skripsi berjudul “Pemanfaatan Line Today terhadap Pemenuhan Kebutuhan
Informasi Mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Diponegoro Semarang”
bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya hubungan antara pemanfaatan Line
Today terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu
Budaya Universitas Diponegoro Semarang berdasarkan 4 indikator teori usability
oleh Rubin dan Chisnell dan 4 indikator pendekatan kebutuhan informasi oleh
Guha. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan
teknik pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner. Populasi dalam penelitian ini
adalah 2.763 mahasiswa dengan sampel sebanyak 310 responden yang ditentukan
menggunakan proportionate stratified random sampling. Analisis data
menggunakan analisis deskriptif dengan hasil penelitian yang menunjukkan
bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang sangat kuat sebesar 0,809 antara
pemanfaatan Line Today dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi mahasiswa
Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Diponegoro Semarang. Uji hipotesis dilakukan
dengan menganalisis hasil koefisien korelasi Pearson Product-Moment antara
variabel pemanfaatan Line Today dengan variabel pemenuhan kebutuhan
informasi. Hasilnya didapatkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000. Kriteria
penolakan H0 adalah jika nilai signifikan α < 0,05, sehingga Ha diterima dan H0
ditolak karena diperoleh nilai signifikansi yang lebih kecil dari 0,05. Maka dapat
disimpulkan bahwa Line Today dimanfaatkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan
informasi mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Diponegoro Semarang.
This research aims to know whether there is a relationship between the utilization
of Line Today on the fulfillment of information needs students Faculty of
Humanities Diponegoro University Semarang based on 4 indicators of usability
theory by Rubin and Chisnell and 4 indicator of the information needs by Guha.
The research methods used are quantitatively descriptive with data retrieval
techniques using questionnaires. The population in this study was 2.763 students
with a sample of 310 respondents determined to use proportionated stratified
random sampling. Data analysis uses a descriptive analysis with the results of
research that shows there is a relationship rate of 0,809 between the utilization of
Line Today with fulfilling the information needs of students Faculty of Humanities
Diponegoro University Semarang. The hypothesis test was conducted by
analyzing the results of the correlation coefficient Pearson Product-Moment
between the utilization of Line Today variables with the fulfillment of information
needs variables. The result obtained a significance value of 0,000. The H0
rejection criterion is if a significant value of α is < 0,05, so Ha is accepted and H0
is rejected because it is obtained a significance value that is smaller than 0,05.
Then it can be concluded that Line Today is used to fulfilling the information
needs of students Faculty of Humanities University Diponegoro Semarang.
