Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dan menjelaskan pengalaman informasi pengelola Perpustakaan Limbah Pustaka dalam menggunakan sumber informasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan wawacara semi-terstruktur dan observasi sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini melibatkan 3 informan yaitu Kepala Perpustakaan Limbah Pustaka, Wakil Kepala Perpustakaan Limbah Pustaka, serta Relawan Perpustakaan Limbah Pustaka yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan teknik thematic analysis. Hasil analisis menunjukkan empat tema terkait dengan pengalaman informasi pengelola perpustakaan dalam menggunakan sumber informasi. Tema pertama yaitu kebutuhan informasi yang menggambarkan berbagai jenis kebutuhan informasi yang melatarbelakangi pengelola untuk menggunakan sumber informasi. Tema kedua yaitu sumber informasi yang berisi berbagai jenis sumber informasi yang digunakan serta sisi kelebihan yang dirasakan dalam penggunaan sumber informasi. Tema ketiga yaitu pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi yaitu berisi pengalaman-pengalaman yang pengelola dapatkan ketika proses pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi, meliputi dampak serta manfaat yang didapatkan ketika menggunakan sumber informasi. Tema keempat yaitu tema kendala dan solusi yaitu berisi pengalaman mengenai kendala serta solusi yang diapatkan dalam menggunakan sumber informasi. Kendala dan solusi ini merupakan akhir dari siklus pengalaman informasi yang dirasakan oleh informan dalam menggunakan sumber informasi.
This aim of the research is to understand and explain the information experience of Limbah Pustaka’s library manager in using information sources. The research method used in this study was a qualitative method, using semi-structured interviews and observations as data collection techniques. The data collection of this research involved 3 informants, namely the Head of Limbah Pustaka’s library manager, the Deputy Head of Limbah Pustaka’s library manager, and Limbah Pustaka’s library waste banks section and they were selected using purposive sampling technique. The collected data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results of the analysis show four themes related to the information experience of library managers in using information sources. The first theme is information needs, which describes the various types of information needs that serve as the background for managers to use information sources. The second theme is information sources, which contains various types of information sources used and the perceived advantages of using information sources. The third theme is the fulfillment of information needs, which contains experiences that managers get during the process of fulfilling information needs, including the impacts and benefits obtained when using information sources. The fourth theme is the theme of constraints and solutions, which contains experiences regarding the obstacles
and solutions obtained in using information sources. These constraints and
solutions are the end of the information experience cycle felt by informants in
using information sources
