Abstract

This research is a research on efforts to preserve ancient manuscripts at the Yayasan Sastra Lestari. This study aims to identify how ancient manuscript preservation efforts are an effort to save literary works. The ancient manuscripts contain a variety of information that can be learned. Ancient manuscripts written
using paper or other materials are susceptible to damage, which can result in the loss of the information contained in it. In order to maintain the integrity of the information contained in the ancient manuscripts, preservation is necessary. This research discusses the efforts of preserving ancient manuscripts by Yayasan Sastra Lestari (Yasri) which is oriented towards preserving the information contained in the ancient manuscripts. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of this research are to know about the methods
and types of preservation used, in the form of digitalization and transliteration. Furthermore, identifying the obstacles that occurred from the preservation process in Yasri such as the physical script. After knowing the obstacles, the results of the preservation were described to determine the various results that
Yasri had achieved in preserving. Next is the evaluation from the leadership and visitors of Yasri which is useful for providing input in the hope that it can make Yasri progress in preserving ancient manuscripts.

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian mengenai upaya preservasi naskah kuno di Yayasan Sastra Lestari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana upaya preservasi naskah kuno sebagai upaya penyelamatan karya sastra. Naskah kuno mengandung berbagai informasi yang dapat dipelajari. Naskah kuno yang ditulis menggunakan media kertas atau bahan lain rentan terhadap kerusakan, sehingga dapat berakibat hilangnya isi informasi yang terkandung di dalamnya. Demi menjaga keutuhan isi informasi yang terkandung dalam naskah kuno, perlu
adanya sebuah upaya preservasi. Penelitian ini membahas tentang upaya preservasi naskah kuno yang dilakukan oleh Yayasan Sastra Lestari (Yasri) yang berorientasi kepada keterjagaan isi informasi naskah kuno. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan metode pengambilan data berupa wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah mengetahui mengenai cara dan macam preservasi yang digunakan, berupa alih media dan alih aksara. Selanjutnya mengidentifikasi mengenai kendala yang terjadi dari proses preservasi di Yasri seperti fisik naskah. Setelah mengetahui
kendala, hasil dari preservasi dijabarkan untuk mengetahui berbagai hasil yang telah dicapai Yasri dalam melakukan preservasi. Selanjutnya adalah mengenai evaluasi yang berasal dari pimpinan dan pengunjung Yasri yang berguna untuk memberi masukan dengan harapan dapat menjadikan Yasri semakin maju dalam melakukan preservasi naskah kuno.
