Abstract
This thesis is about Komunitas SLiMS Semarang as an innovation space for librarians. The purpose of the research is to identify how the Komunitas SLiMS Semarang as the librarian innovation space. The method used in this study is
qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The data retrieval techniques in
this study use semi-structured interviews and observations. Informant is chosen
using the purposive sampling, using several criteria obtained by four informant that correspond to the research purpose. The collected data is then analyzed using Thematic Analysis. From these techniques, researchers managed to determine the four phases associated with Komunitas SLiMS Semarang as a space for librarian innovation, the level of motivation, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovation. The first stage is the motivation that also became a key theme as well as a major factor in influencing librarians in the Komunitas SLiMS Semarang to continue share knowledge to improve their capabilities. The motivation of librarians in the community is based on a variety of factors, ranging from knowledge sharing, improving competence, lifting to professional degrees, to job demands. The next stage of knowledge Sharing is the main activity conducted by SLiMS Semarang community that applied various forms such as "Sinau Bareng", "Klinik Perpustakaan", workshops, and others. Continuing to the stage of collaboration explaining the interaction of community members with other communities in order to produce new innovations, the innovations that are usually different from that of the community. The final stage is innovation, which describes the external or access to such products, ideas, and new activities. Although as the final stage, but the innovation does not make a stopping of knowledge cycles in the Komunitas SLiMS Semarang, precisely innovation is able to be the beginning of the creation of new knowledge. The findings of this study were beneficial to the other community of librarian practices and to practitioners of other librarians who wanted to develop SLiMS.
