Abstract
Chiron, as an African-American homosexual male, faces systemic discrimination
that could not be dodged easily. Intersectionality is the main topic of this thesis
because the entire main character’s life joggles with racial, sexual orientation,
gender, and class issue since he was a child until become a mature person. This
thesis has the aim of acknowledging the inevitable effect of intersectionality to
one’s life. This thesis uses qualitative research method by collecting data to obtain
evidence. Showing proofs of systemic discrimination areas, this thesis shows that
the main character is doing resistance stuff to defend himself. To conclude, this
writing shows that events related to multiple layered discrimination has
predicament value.
