Abstract

Steryl Glucoside (SG) adalah senyawa yang dihasilkan dari proses pengolahan Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME). Senyawa SG diperoleh dari proses penyaringan FAME dengan menggunakan media filter. Proses penyaringan tersebut menghasilkan residu berbentuk padatan seperti kue (cake) yang bercampur dengan senyawa Steryl Glucoside (Residual Cake Steryl Glucoside). Penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa Steryl Glucoside memiliki nilai kalor yang tinggi, sehingga berpotensi untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan bakar co-firing pada boiler. Sementara itu, penerapan co-firing pada unit boiler diketahui dapat meminimalisir konsumsi batubara dan mengurangi emisi karbon. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari rasio co-firing residual cake steryl glucoside terhadap efisiensi, dan biaya bahan bakar pada boiler. Penelitian dilakukan secara langsung pada unit boiler dengan rasio residual cake steryl glucoside 5% - 20% secara berat. Berdasarkan uji coba yang dilakukan, peningkatan rasio residual cake steryl glucoside akan meningkatkan efisiensi boiler dan mengurangi biaya bahan bakar

Steryl Glucosides (SG) are compounds produced from the processing of Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME). SG compounds are obtained from the FAME filtration process using filter aid media. The filtering process produces residue in solids mixed with Steryl Glucoside compounds (Residual Cake Steryl Glucoside). Previous studies have shown that SG has a high calorific value, so it has the potential to be utilized as a co-firing fuel in boilers. Furthermore, implementing co- firing could minimize coal consumption and lead to a reduction of carbon emissions. This study aims to determine the effect of the residual cake co-firing ratio on boiler efficiency and fuel cost. The research was conducted directly on the boiler with a ratio of residual cake steryl glucoside 5 - 20 wt%. Based on the trial, increasing the residual cake steryl glucoside ratio will improve the boiler efficiency and reduce the fuel cost.
