Abstract
This undergraduate thesis discusses how the American dream is depicted in Sean Baker’s Anora. The writer chose to write about the topic because he is interested in the concept of the American dream for post-soviet uni third generation figure rather than native Americans. This discussion is intended to describe how a post-soviet uni third generation female figure pursues her American dream. In order to describe her pursuit, the writer adopts Bordwell and Thompson’s concept of film art and
Truslow's concept of American dream. He applies the Alan McKee method of research. The writer’s discussion comes into three stages. One, the description of elements of film. Two, the description of the American dream. Three, the relation
between the cinematography elements of Anora and the elements of American dream in the film. The discussion results in Anora’s pursuit of her American dream in her own way.
