Abstract

Seiring dengan perkembangan jaman, ketergantungan manusia akan hutan terus meningkat baik dalam hal produk hasil hutan maupun berupa jasa lingkungan. Keberadaan kawasan hutan sebagai tempat menyimpan karbon dapat menjadi salah satu faktor yang dapat mengurangi terjadinya perubahan iklim sehingga dapat mencegah terjadinya dampak-dampak kerusakan lingkungan yang diakibatkan oleh perubahan iklim. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) Mengetahui kondisi tegakan dan potensi simpanan karbon pada seluruh zonasi, termasuk zona rehabilitasi-agroforestri yang merupakan lahan yang digarap oleh pesanggem di KHDTK Wanadipa; 2) Menganalisis bentuk partisipasi masyarakat dalam pengelolaan KHDTK Wanadipa dan 3) Merumuskan strategi pegelolaan KHDTK Wanadipa berbasis partisipasi masyarakat. Nilai INP dan simpanan karbon tertinggi terdapat pada spesies mahoni yang menunjukkan bahwa jenis tersebut merupakan jenis yang paling banyak tumbuh di dalam KHDTK. Secara umum, diketahui bahwa bentuk partisipasi masyarakat masih didominasi pada tahap pelaksanaan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis SWOT, menunjukkan bahwa salah satu strategi pengelolaan KHDTK Wanadipa berbasis partisipasi masyarakat guna meningkatkan potensi simpanan karbon yaitu berupa melakukan kegiatan penanaman, khususnya mahoni yang bekerja sama dengan mitra serta melibatkan petani pesanggem di dalam pelaksanaannya.

Concomitant with this increase in consumption, human dependence on forests has also increased, both in terms of the utilization of forest products and the provision of environmental services. The presence of forest areas as a carbon storage mechanism can be a contributing factor in mitigating the occurrence of climate change, thereby averting the repercussions of environmental degradation caused by climate change. The objectives of this study are as follows: First, the condition of the stands and the potential for carbon storage in all zones must be ascertained, including the rehabilitation-agroforestry zone, which is land cultivated by farmers in the Wanadipa KHDTK. Second, the form of community participation in the management of the Wanadipa KHDTK must be analyzed. Third, a strategy for managing the Wanadipa KHDTK based on community participation must be formulated. The highest levels of INP and carbon storage were observed in the mahogany species, suggesting that this species is the most prevalent in the KHDTK. It is generally acknowledged that the modality of community participation is predominantly characterized by its implementation stage. The results of the SWOT analysis indicate that a strategy for managing the Wanadipa KHDTK involving community participation to enhance the potential for carbon storage is to engage in planting activities, particularly mahogany, in collaboration with partners and by incorporating pesanggem farmers into the implementation process.
