Abstract

The protection of migrant workers' rights is a critical issue in international labor law, particularly in Qatar, which is one of the major destination countries for foreign labor. This study examines the enforcement of migrant workers' rights under Qatar’s Labor Law, as well as the dispute resolution mechanisms for forced labor violations based on the provisions of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Statute of the International Court of Justice. Using a normative juridical approach, the research finds that despite ongoing legal reforms, forced labor practices persist due to weak law enforcement. On the other hand, international mechanisms such as filing complaints to the ILO and dispute resolution through the International Court provide a legal framework to hold states accountable. The findings highlight the need for harmonization between national legislation and international standards to ensure effective protection of migrant workers’ rights.
