Abstract

This study aims to identify the forms of abuse and taboo in the comments column
of the YouTube.com music video "Cinta Mati 2" Mulan Jameela. The object of
this research is the comments in the comments column of the YouTube.com site
for the music video of Mulan Jameela's "Cinta Mati 2". This research is a
qualitative research, which produces data in the form of descriptions conveyed in
written sentences. The theory used in this research is pragmatic theory, the data
collection method used in this study is the observation and note technique. The
data were analyzed using the split and match methods. The results of this study
indicate that in the comments column YouTube.com Mulan Jameela's music video
"Cinta Mati 2" contains a lot of insults and taboo elements. The forms of cursing
that were found were the form of verbal abuse, the form of verbal abuse, and the
form of curse on the clause. The taboo forms found were taboo of personal names
and taboo of certain words.
