Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan apakah kegiatan pemilahan sampah yang dilakukan oleh para pemulung dengan menyediakan area pilah terlindung dapat meningkatkan efektifitas proses pemilahan sehingga jumlah sampah yang tereduksi dalam proses tersebut dapat dikatakann signifikan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survey, observasi dan pengukuran terhadap kegiatan pemilahan sampah oleh para pemulung TPA, untuk mendapatkan besar tingkat efektifitas dari proses pemilahan sampah oleh para pemulung TPA dengan maupun tanpa area khusus pemilahan dan membandingkan data jumlah prosentase pengurangan sampah yang masuk ke TPA dari proses pemilahan sampah oleh para pemulung di TPA yang dilakukan di area landfill dengan yang dilakukan di area khusus pemilahan pemulung. Berdasarkan analisis proses – perilaku – dampak pada pemulung dan petugas landfill disimpulkan adanya solusi untuk meningkatkan kenyamanan, keamanan dan penghasilan. Berdasarkan analisis efektifitas kegiatan pemilahan sampah oleh para pemulung disimpulkan kegiatan ini tergolong sangat efektif. Berdasarkan analisis potensi pengurangan sampah disimpulkan kegiatan ini menghasilkan potensi pengurangan sampah yang masuk dalam golongan potensi sedang. Kegiatan pemilahan sampah oleh pemulung di lokasi area khusus pemilahan berdampak pada sampah yang ditimbun di landfill tereduksi sekitar 18%. Berdasarkan analisis minat pelaku dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pemilahan sampah yang dilakukan di area khusus pemilahan masuk dalam golongan minat tinggi.

This study aims to determine whether waste sorting activities carried out by scavengers by providing a protected sorting area can increase the effectiveness of the sorting process so that the amount of waste reduced in the process can be said to be significant. The method used is a survey, observation and measurement method of waste sorting activities by landfill scavengers, to obtain a large level of effectiveness of the waste sorting process by landfill scavengers with or without a special sorting area and compare the data on the number of percentage reductions in waste entering the landfill from the waste sorting process by scavengers in the landfill area with those carried out in the special area of scavenger sorting. Based on the analysis of the process – behavior-impact on scavengers and landfill officers, it is concluded that there are solutions to increase comfort, safety and income. Based on the analysis of the effectiveness of waste sorting activities by scavengers, it is concluded that this activity is classified as very effective. Based on the analysis of the potential for waste reduction, it is concluded that this activity produces the potential for waste reduction which is included in the medium potential group. Waste sorting activities by scavengers at the location of the special sorting area have an impact on the waste piled up in landfills reduced by around 18%. Based on the analysis of the interest of the actors, it can be concluded that waste sorting activities carried out in special areas of sorting are included in the high interest group.
