Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh laju alir relief gas, assist gas, dan konsentrasi gas terhadap pembakaran pada sistem flare di fasilitas Gas Onshore di Jawa Timur. Flare digunakan untuk membakar gas sisa dari proses produksi guna mengurangi emisi gas berbahaya seperti CO₂ dan H2S. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data lapangan serta analisis laboratorium untuk memahami faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi efisiensi pembakaran. Parameter yang dianalisis meliputi flow relief gas, flow assist gas, nilai kalor (LHV), dan konsentrasi gas buang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan aliran relief gas mengurangi penggunaan assist gas dan meningkatkan nilai kalor gas campuran, tetapi meningkatkan emisi SO₂. Sebaliknya, peningkatan kandungan CO₂ dalam relief gas menurunkan nilai kalor gas campuran dan meningkatkan konsentrasi CO₂ dalam gas buang. Selain itu, konsentrasi H₂S yang lebih tinggi dalam relief gas menyebabkan peningkatan signifikan emisi SO₂. Penelitian ini juga menggarisbawahi pentingnya optimasi sistem flare untuk meningkatkan efisiensi pembakaran serta mengurangi emisi gas rumah kaca dan polutan lainnya. Kesimpulannya, optimasi penggunaan assist gas dapat meningkatkan efisiensi energi, mengurangi pemborosan, dan menurunkan dampak lingkungan. Studi ini berkontribusi pada pemahaman lebih dalam mengenai pengelolaan gas suar dan strategi pengurangan emisi, mendukung upaya keberlanjutan serta pemenuhan regulasi lingkungan di sektor minyak dan gas. Dan LHV mix gas minimum 300 BTU/scf yaitu saat ratio mix gas pada perbandingan assist gas dengan relief gas 1:7,12.

This study aims to analyze the effect of gas relief flow rate, gas assist, and gas composition on combustion in a flare system at an Onshore Gas facility in East Java. Flares are used to burn residual gas from the production process to reduce harmful gas emissions such as CO₂ and H2S. This research uses quantitative methods with field data collection and laboratory analysis to understand the factors that affect combustion efficiency. The parameters analyzed include relief gas flow rate, flow assist gas, heating value (LHV), and flue gas concentration. The results showed that increasing the relief gas flow reduced the use of gas assist and increased the heating value of the mixed gas, but increased SO₂ emissions. Conversely, increasing the CO₂ content in the relief gas decreased the heating value of the mixed gas and increased the CO₂ concentration in the flue gas. In addition, a higher H₂S composition in the relief gas led to a significant increase in SO₂ emissions. This study also underscores the importance of flare system optimization to improve combustion efficiency and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and other pollutants. In conclusion, optimizing the use of assist gas can improve energy efficiency, reduce waste and lower environmental impacts. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of flare gas management and emission reduction strategies, supporting sustainable emission reduction strategies, supporting sustainability efforts and compliance with environmental regulations in the oil and gas sector. environmental regulations in the oil and gas sector. And the minimum gas mix LHV 300btu/scf is when the gas mix ratio is at a ratio of assist gas to relief gas of gas ratio of 1:7.12.
