This research analyzes the self-actualization of Mikami's character in the film Under The Open Sky by Miwa Nishikawa. The reason for analyzing self-actualization in this film is because Mikami’s character shows a struggle to achieve his goal of becoming a better person. The purpose of this research is to explain the narrative structure and self-actualization process of Mikami in Miwa Nishikawa's Under the Open Sky. This research is qualitative research. The technique used to collect data is observing and recording. The theory used to analyse the narrative structure of the film is the theory of film narrative structure by Himawan Pratista. Meanwhile, to analyse Mikami's self-actualization process using Abraham Maslow's multilevel needs theory. The result of this research is that Mikami achieves self-actualization by working in a nursing home. Support from the people around him is very influential in fulfilling his needs.
