Abstract

Masa pendidikan di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) menjadi fase kritis dalam mempersiapkan peserta didik menghadapi tantangan perencanaan karier. Pengambilan keputusan karier secara mandiri merupakan kompetensi esensial yang perlu dimiliki siswa, khususnya di jenjang kelas akhir. Studi-studi sebelumnya mengidentifikasi bahwa dukungan emosional dan informasional dari orang tua berkontribusi signifikan terhadap kematangan pengambilan keputusan karier remaja. Penelitian kuantitatif ini bertujuan menganalisis korelasi antara persepsi dukungan sosial orang tua dengan pengambilan keputusan karier pada 174 siswa kelas XII SMA Negeri 1 Purbalingga yang dipilih melalui teknik cluster random sampling (populasi=322). Menggunakan instrumen skala psikometrik yaitu Skala Pengambilan Keputusan Karier (32 item, α=0,949) dan Skala Dukungan Sosial Orang Tua (46 item, α=0,962), uji hipotesis menggunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana mengungkap hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kedua variabel (β=0,385, p=0,001). Temuan mengindikasikan bahwa intensitas dukungan orang tua berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan pengamilan keputusan karier pada siswa. Implikasi praktis penelitian ini menekankan perlunya sinergi antara lingkungan keluarga dan institusi pendidikan dalam membangun literasi karier siswa.

The education period in Senior High School (SMA) is a critical phase in preparing students to face the challenges of career planning. Independent career decision-making is an essential competency that students need to have, especially in the final grade level. Previous studies have identified that emotional and informational support from parents significantly contribute to the maturity of adolescent career decision-making. This quantitative study aims to analyze the correlation between perceptions of parental social support and career decision-making in 174 grade XII students of SMA Negeri 1 Purbalingga selected through cluster random sampling technique (population = 322). Using psychometric scale instruments, namely the Career Decision-Making Scale (32 items, α = 0.949) and the Parental Social Support Scale (46 items, α = 0.962), hypothesis testing using simple linear regression analysis revealed a significant positive relationship between the two variables (β = 0.385, p = 0.001). The findings indicate that the intensity of parental support is directly proportional to the increase in career decision-making in students. The practical implications of this study emphasize the need for synergy between the family environment and educational institutions in building students' career literacy.
