Wibowo, Mirza Arif. 2024. “Adaptation of Work Culture by Tokutei Ginou
Workers in Japan”. An undergraduate thesis of Japanese Language and Culture
Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. Arsi Widiandari, S,S.,
M.Si. as thesis advisor.
This research aimed to describe the adaptation process experienced by
Indonesian tokutei ginou workers to the work culture in Japan. The method used
in this research is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach and
the data collection technique uses in-depth interviews with five informants. The
theory used is Adaptation theory and U-curve theory to analyze the adaptation
process. The result of this research is that there are fundamental differences in the
adaptation process of each informant. The differences are in the pre-departure
period, Honeymoon phase, Crisis phase, and Ajustment phase.. The final result of
the adaptation of the first informant is full adaptation, while the other four
informants have not been able to fully adapt.
