Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study aims to describe the form and use of social deixis in the drama
"Watashitachi wa Douka Shiteiru" by Natsumi Ando.The data used are Japanese
dramas collected using the simak method with simak bebas libat cakap techniques
and catat techniques. The data was analyzed using padan ekstralingual method
and explained using informal method.
Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that in the drama
"Watashitachi wa Douka Shiteiru” found as much as 96 data containing keigo as
much as 73 data with details of sonkeigo 28 data, kenjougo 22 data and teineigo
23 data. While yari morai was found as much as 12 data with details of ~te ageru
2 data, ~te kureru 1 data, ~te morau 6 data, ~te sashiageru 1 data, ~te kudasaru 1
data and ~te itadaku 1 data. While the data of verbs iku and kuru amounted to 11
data with details of ~te iku 5 data and ~te kuru 6 data. The use of social deixis in
this research is based on the concept of jouge-kankei, level of familiarity,
formal/casual situations, and uchi-soto.
