Abstract
This study examines the capital of two female politicians in maintaining
their positions for three consecutive terms in the Semarang Regency Regional
People's Representative Council (DPRD). The election results from time to time
show that the number of women's representatives in the Semarang Regency
Regional People's Representative Council continues to decline; however, two
incumbent politicians, Lily Sri Wachiduni Choiriyah S.E. (Democratic Party) and
Isroatun, S.H., M.H. (National Awakening Party/PKB), were able to maintain their
victory for three terms. This study uses a qualitative method, with data collection
through in-depth interviews with two incumbent female politicians and several
other informants, such as members of political parties, campaign teams, and voters.
The findings in this study reveal that social capital in the form of networks, trust,
and norms play an important role in the victory of incumbent female politicians.
This study also found that the political capital and economic capital of these two
female politicians are also needed by these two women in winning the election
contest.
Keywords: incumbent female politicians, political capital, social capital, economic
