Abstract

Produksi bata merah berbahan baku tanah liat tumbuh dan berkembang di berbagai daerah Indonesia termasuk di Priangan Timur Jawa Barat. Sudah menjadi sumber mata pencaharian untuk menopang perekonomian, namun demikian berdampak terhadap menipisnya bahan baku, hingga akhirnya merambah tanah perkebunan terus ke bukit di sekitar desa, sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan degradasi dan berubahnya fungsi lahan.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan usulan rumusan strategi pengelolaan sumber daya tanah yang dapat diterapkan pada sentra produksi bata merah, melalui berbagai analisis: Analisis pengaruh status sosial, pengetahuan dan perilaku lingkungan pengelola/penanggung jawab terhadap kondisi lingkungan berdasarkan penilaian pengendalian kerusakan lahan, analisis status keberlanjutan kawasan, analisis tanggapan para pemangku kepentingan dan masyarakat terhadap analisis keberlanjutan.
Data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini berbentuk fakta, pendapat dan kemampuan diri, dilakukan dengan multi teknik, agar dapat menggali informasi yang lengkap dan sekaligus sebagai sarana triangulasi data. Pengolahan dan analisis data keberlanjutan menggunakan teknik Rapfish/Multi Dimensional Scalling (MDS), analisis data kuantitatif dengan regresi berganda, analisis data kualitatif dengan model interaktif dan analisis data campuran kuantitatif dan kualitatif (mixed method-embedded konkuren)
Hasil penelitian status sosial pengelola/penanggung jawab produksi bata merah mayoritas berada pada tingkatan sedang, yaitu di Desa Linggamukti dan Desa Cintanya, sedangkan mayoritas tingkatan sosial tinggi berada di Desa Sinartanjung.Pengetahuan mayoritas berada pada tingkatan cukup (di Desa Linggamukti dan Cintajaya), sedangkan mayoritas tingkatan pengetahuan rendah ada di Desa Sinartanjung.Perilaku lingkungan mayoritas berada pada tingkatan cukup ada di ketiga lokasi penelitian.
Kesimpulan strategi pengelolaan sumber daya tanah dapat dirumuskan setelah diketahui status keberlanjutan di masing-masing sentra prosuksi bata merah dengan mendapat tanggapan yang positif dari pemangku kebijakan. Rumusan strategi meliputi: pengelolaan lingkungan buatan, pengelolaan lingkungan sosial budaya, pengendalaian pencemaran, kerusakan lingkungan dan penanggulangan bencana lingkungan, penegakan hukum pengelolaan lingkungan, politik dan kebijakan pengembangan dan pengaturan peruntukan dan pemanfaatan lahan.

The production of clay-based red bricks, developed in different regions of Indonesia, such as East Priangan and West Java, has emerged as a livelihood to support the economy. Nevertheless, the manufacture of red bricks significantly influences the depletion of raw materials within the production region. Consequently, the utilization of plantation land and hills in the surrounding area of the community may lead to degradation and alterations in land functionality.
This study aims to develop a land resource management strategy that can be implemented in red brick production centers. This will be achieved through a series of analytical approaches, including examining the impact of social status, knowledge, and environmental behavior of managers or individuals responsible for environmental conditions as determined by land damage control assessments. Additionally, the study will analyze the sustainability status of the region and evaluate the responses of stakeholders and the community to the sustainability analysis.
The data gathered in this study consists of factual information, subjective viewpoints, and individual competencies. It was collected utilizing several methodologies to obtain comprehensive data and facilitate data triangulation. Utilizing the Rapfish/Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS) technique for processing and interpreting sustainability data, employing multiple regression for quantitative data analysis, interactive models for qualitative data analysis, and a mixed method-embedded approach for mixed quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
The findings of this study indicate that the social status of the managers/individuals in charge of red brick manufacturing is predominantly medium in Linggamukti Village and Cintanya Village, while it is predominantly high in Sinartanjung Village. In terms of environmental knowledge, it is seen that most business actors with pretty good knowledge are concentrated in Linggamukti and Cintajaya Villages, whereas a majority of individuals with less good knowledge are found in Sinartanjung Village. Furthermore, many corporate entities in the three research sites exhibit a pretty good level regarding environmental behavior.
Once the sustainability status of each red brick production center is determined, land resource management strategies can be developed based on a positive response from policymakers. The strategy formulation encompasses various aspects, such as the management of artificial environments, socio-cultural environmental factors, pollution control, mitigation of environmental damage and disasters, enforcement of environmental management laws, political and policy development, and regulation of land designation and use.
