Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi konsumsi energi spesifik (SEC) pada sistem demineralisasi air umpan boiler dengan penambahan unit Reverse Osmosis (RO) dan pengaruh dari penerapan sistem RO terhadap pemakaian bahan kimia pada proses regenerasi demin plant, serta menentukan keuntungan ekonomis jangka panjang. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada area Demineralizer Building PLTU PT Puncak Jaya Power 3x65 MW, pembangkit listrik milik PT Freeport Indonesia yang berlokasi di Desa Amamapare Timika Papua. Penelitian terbagi dalam 2 tahapan yaitu kajian teknis berdasarkan data penelitian yang dioptimasi dengan perangkat lunak water application value engine (WAVE) dan evaluasi ekonomi. Penambahan RO pada unit demineralisasi air umpan boiler memberikan hasil yang baik. Penerapannya memungkinkan pengurangan biaya operasi dan penerapan otomatisasi proses pengolahan air pada tingkat yang lebih tinggi. Konfigurasi modul RO yang dipilih adalah 2 stage dengan 6 vessel. Dimana memberikan beberapa keuntungan seperti: % Recovery = 70%, average flux yang cukup tinggi = 22,5 liter/m2/jam, umur membran yang lebih panjang dimana dengan adanya tahap penyaringan tambahan, membebaskan tahap pertama dari beban kerja yang berat. Nilai spesific energy consumption = 0,45 kWh/m3 dan konsumsi energi yang dihasilkan sebesar 325,79 kWh/hari. Hasil analisis keekonomian menunjukkan bahwa dengan penambahan RO mampu menurunkan biaya konsumsi bahan kimia untuk regenerasi penukar ion dan diperoleh ROI = 218 % dengan payback time selama 2 tahun.

This study aims to evaluate the specific energy consumption (SEC) in the boiler feed water demineralization system with the addition of an RO unit and the effect of implementing the RO system on the use of chemicals in the demineralize plant regeneration process, as well as determining long-term economic benefits. The research was carried out in the Demineralizer Building area of PLTU PT Puncak Jaya Power 3x65 MW, a power plant owned by PT Freeport Indonesia which is in Amamapare Village, Timika, Papua. This research is divided into 2 stages: technical assessment based on research data to be optimized using water application value engine (WAVE) software and economic evaluation. The addition of an RO unit to the boiler feed water demineralization unit gives good results. Its application allows reducing operating costs and implementing automation of water treatment processes at a higher level. The RO module configuration chosen is 2 stages with 6 vessels which provides several advantages such as: % Recovery = 70%, high average flux = 22.5 liters/m2/hour, longer membrane lifetime with the additional filter, reduced the load in the first stage. Spesific energy consumption = 0,45 kWh/m3 and total Energy Consumption 325,79 kWh/day. The results of the economic evaluation show that the cost of chemical consumption for ion exchange regeneration can be reduced and an ROI = 218% can be obtained with a payback time of 2 years.
