Abstract

The diversity of ethnicity, race and religion in Indonesia affects the diversity of social
interactions that occur. Through social interaction, humans can fulfill their needs and help each
other. Kutoarjo Urban Area as the center of trade and services of Purworejo Regency has
experienced significant development. The diversity of ethnicities, races, and religions in the
Kutoarjo Urban Area affects the social interactions that occur in the Kutoarjo Urban Area. Based
on this, an analysis is needed to determine the development of Kutoarjo Urban Area through spatial
patterns formed in trade and commercial areas and social interactions analyzed through land
ownership status. There are several objectives in this analysis, namely analyzing the development
and status of land ownership in the trade and commercial area of Kutoarjo urban area within a
period of ten years, analyzing social interactions that occur in Kutoarjo urban area, and analyzing
the impact of the development of social interactions on the development of Kutoarjo urban area.
