Abstract

Jenderal Ahmad Yani Airport is an airport that is busy with both domestic and international
visitors because it is the only one airport in Semarang City, this makes the customer service
as the frontline of an airport must be able to communicate using English fluently. This is
the background of an idea to create a Bilingual Customer Service Guidebook and to create
video as a supporting media for the book. This study is entitled "Creating Video as
Supporting Media for the Bilingual Customer Service Guidebook of PT Angkasa Pura I
Jenderal Ahmad Yani Airport Semarang" and aims to find out that video is a suitable
supporting media for the Bilingual Customer Service Guidebook and describe the stages of
making the video. The video was made through 3 stages, namely pre-production,
production, and post-production. The method used is Research & Development by Borg &
Gall which was adjusted into 8 stages and used a Likert scale involving 15 respondents to
assess the content, audio-visual, and linguistic aspects. The results of this study prove that
video is suitable as a supporting media for the book and the video becomes a media that
makes it easier for readers to understand the contents of the Bilingual Customer Service
Guidebook.
