Abstract

Background: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is often associated with increased body weight and insulin resistance. Therefore, lifestyle modifications are often used as interventions for PCOS. Lifestyle includes diet, rest time, health maintenance, physical activity and exercise.
Objective: Review the literature on the relationship between dietary pattern, physical activity and PCOS in women.
Methods: This research was conducted with a literature study in the form of a narrative review. Data was obtained through literature searches on Pubmed, Google Schoolar, and Scence Direct databases. The data obtained before reduction amounted to 9879 articles then reduced and obtained 17 articles for review.
Results: Showed that there is an influence of diet on weight loss and insulin resistance which is often associated with the occurrence of PCOS. Physical activity with PCOS does not have a definite relationship to insulin resistance, but there is a clear relationship to weight loss.
Conclusion: There is a relationship between weight loss and improvement of insulin resistance between diet and PCOS, but the relationship between PCOS and physical activity only clearly illustrates weight loss.
