Abstract

ABSTRAK
(Kenichy Priyoasmoro. 26050119130126. Studi Sebaran Horizontal Nitrat
di Muara Sungai Wedung, Kabupaten Demak, Provinsi Jawa Tengah. Muh Yusuf
dan Alfi Satriadi).
Perairan Sungai Wedung mendapat pengaruh dari aktivitas manusia yang
berada di sepanjang badan sungai. Aktivitas tersebut dapat menyebabkan
produktivitas limbah ataupun nutrien yang tinggi di perairan, salah satu nutriennya
adalah nitrat. Sumber kandungan nitrat di perairan dapat berasal dari proses
dekomposisi bahan organik dan masukan limbah dari daratan melalui sungai.
Kandungan nutrien dan produktivitas primer dalam perairan bisa terpengaruh oleh
fenomena kimia-fisika perairan seperti arus yang berperan dalam menyebarkan
nutrien secara horizontal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui nilai
konsentrasi nitrat dan persebarannya di perairan muara sungai. Metode penelitian
yaitu metode deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli 2023 dengan
metode purposive sampling untuk pengambilan sampel. Analisis konsentrasi nitrat
menggunakan metode spektrofotometri. Data kecepatan dan arah arus didapatkan
dari pengolahan data pasang surut dan batimetri dengan pemodelan MIKE21 Flow
Model. Hasil penelitian ini mendapati nilai konsentrasi nitrat berkisar 0.1-0.310
mg/L dengan rerata 0.257 mg/L. Nilai konsentrasi nitrat dominan tinggi berada di
titik lokasi yang berada di dekat muara dan daratan. Hal ini dikarenakan lokasi
berada di dekat sumber masuknya nitrat yaitu muara. Arah arus pemodelan
dominan menuju ke arah barat daya dengan kecepatan 0.001-0.336 m/s. Pola
sebaran konsentrasi nitrat memiliki pergerakan menuju ke arah laut mengikuti pola
arus saat pasang menuju surut. Persebaran konsentrasi nitrat secara horizontal
mengalami penurunan saat menuju ke laut.

Distribution of Nitrate at the Wedung River Estuary, Demak Regency, Central Java
Province. Muh Yusuf and Alfi Satriadi).
The waters of the Wedung River are influenced by human activities along the
river body. This activity can cause high waste or nutrient productivity in waters,
one of the nutrients is nitrate. Sources of nitrate content in waters can come from
the decomposition process of organic material and input of waste from land via
rivers. Nutrient content and primary productivity in waters can be affected by
chemical-physical phenomena in waters such as currents which play a role in
spreading nutrients horizontally. The aim of this research is to determine the value
of nitrate concentration and its distribution in river estuary waters. The research
method is descriptive method. This research was carried out in July 2023 using a
purposive sampling method for sampling. Nitrate concentration analysis using
spectrophotometric methods. Data on current speed and direction are obtained
from processing tidal and bathymetric data using the MIKE21 Flow Model. The
results of this study found nitrate concentration values ranging from 0.1-0.310 mg/L
with an average of 0.257 mg/L. The dominant high nitrate concentration values are
at locations near estuaries and land. This is because the location is near the source
of nitrate entry, namely the estuary. The dominant modeling current direction is
towards the southwest with a speed of 0.001-0.336 m/s. The distribution pattern of
nitrate concentration has a movement towards the sea following the current pattern
during high tide to low tide. The horizontal distribution of nitrate concentration
decreases as it heads towards the sea.
