Penaeus monodon Terhadap Sintasan dan Pertumbuhannya pada Budidaya
Polikultur dengan Rumput Laut Gracilaria sp. di Tambak Tradisional. Sri Rejeki
dan Dicky Harwanto).
Dalam rangka mengatasi penurunan daya dukung lingkungan akibat
intensifikasi dalam budidaya ikan, sistem polikultur dengan rumput laut
Gracilaria sp. dapat diimplementasikan khususnya sebagai pendekatan dalam
pengembangan budidaya udang yang berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengetahui pengaruh dari padat tebar udang windu yang berbeda terhadap
sintasan dan pertumbuhannya yang dibudidayakan dengan rumput laut
(Gracilaria sp.). Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini
adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 3 perlakuan padat tebar (2, 3,
dan 4 ekor/m2) dan 3 kali ulangan. Penelitian polikultur udang windu dengan
rumput laut ini dilaksanakan selama 90 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa
padat tebar udang berpengaruh nyata (p<0,05) terhadap performa pertumbuhan
dan sintasan udang. Pertumbuhan udang padat tebar 2 ekor/m2 menghasilkan
pertumbuhan terbaik dibanding dengan perlakuan yang lainnya, yaitu:
Pertumbuhan mutlak 13,45±1,15 g, SGR 4,54±0,09%/hari dan sintasan terbaik
sebesar 30,30±1,48%. Peningkatan padat tebar menyebabkan adanya kompetisi
ruang, pakan, dan oksigen yang mana menimbulkan stres sehingga terjadi
penekanan laju pertumbuhan pada udang budidaya. Budidaya polikultur dengan
rumput laut Gracilaria memberikan efek terhadap penurunan kandungan amonia
pada media budidaya selama masa pemeliharaan. Kualitas air selama
pemeliharaan menunjukkan suhu, pH, salinitas, dan DO yang layak untuk usaha
budidaya udang windu dan rumput laut Gracilaria sp.

ABSTRACT

Penaeus monodon Shrimp on Its Survival and Growth in Polyculture System with
Gracilaria sp. in Extensive Pond. Sri Rejeki and Dicky Harwanto).
Intensification in fish farming resulted in the declining of the pond’s
carrying capacity. Polyculture of Penaeus monodon with Gracilaria sp. can be
implemented for sustainable shrimp farming. The aim of this study was to
evaluate the effect of shrimp densities in polyculture system with Gracilaria on the
shrimp survival rate and growth. The research design used in this study was a
non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 3 treatments of stocking
density (2, 3, and 4 individuals/m2) with 3 replications. This research was carried
out for 90 days. The results showed that shrimp stocking density had a significant
effect (p<0.05) on growth performance and shrimp survival. Shrimp growth at a
stocking density of 2 individuals/m2 resulted in the best growth and survival
compared to other treatments, namely: Absolute growth of 13.45±1.15 g, SGR
4.54±0.09%/day and SR of 30.30±1.48%. Increase in shrimp density caused
competition on space, food and oxygen which leads to stress resulting in
suppressed growth on shrimp. Polyculture with Gracilaria has the effect of
reducing the ammonia content in the cultivation media during the cultivation
period. The water quality (temperature, pH, salinity and DO) throughout the
cultivation period was in suitable range for tiger shrimp and Gracilaria culture.
