Zahro, Chomsatul Lailatuz. 2023. "Reperesentation of Cultural shock in Sword Art OnlineAnime by Tomohiko Ito, a Sociology of Literature Study". Thesis, Department of Japanese Language and Culture, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. Advisor Yuliani Rahmah, S.Pd., M.Hum.
The topic of this research is "Cultural shock Representation in the Sword Art Online Anime by Tomohiko Ito, a Sociology of Literature Study". This research has 2 objectives, the first is to describe the narrative elements in the Sword Art Online anime and the second is the representation of culltural shock in the Sword Art Online anime.
The method used to obtain data is library research. The Sociology of Literature approach is used because this research raises the issue of cultural shock in the Sword Art Online anime. The theory used in this research is the theory of Film Narrative Structure in Himawan Pratista's book, and the theory of cultural shock by Kalervo Oberg and Gullahorn & Gullahorn.
The result is that some characters in Sword Art Online only survive until the crisis stage and choose to commit suicide, and some manage to pass all stages in cultural shock so that they can continue their lives well.
