Abstract

Language is the most effective communication, by language the speaker being able to convey his meaning to the listener and the writer being able to convey his meaning to the reader. As an Indonesian speaker, you should be able to use Indonesian language properly such as word by word and sentence by sentence, even in every single word or vocabulary you should be able to learn more. In writing this thesis, the writer examines a word, namely the word "play", the word is analyzed using a morphological process so that it gives a change in form, a change in meaning, and a change in word class or category in the word.
The method used for data collection is watch method by the note-taking technique, while for the analysis using the agih method by the extend technique, the results of the end presentation of the data analysis is use informal and formal presentation methods by qualitative research.
The results of the analysis of the morphological process of the word "play", the affixation process experienced 12 changes in shape, the reduplication process experienced 3 changes in shape, and the composition process experienced 22 changes in form. The change in the form of the word "play" is also followed by a change in its meaning or meaning, while for the word class or category of the word "play" which is basically a verb category, then from 37 morphological processes into 1 is in the adverb category, 2 in the adjective category, 5 in the noun category. , and 29 which remain in the verb category.
