In 2020, there were approximately 21,000 suicides in Japan. This increase in suicide rates occurred as the Covid-19 virus entered Japan. This research will discuss how this suicide phenomenon occurs in Japan, especially among teenagers. The method that will be used in this research is descriptive analysis method using a qualitative approach which uses primary data from official news that directly reports on suicides that occur. This research uses Emile Durkheim's theory of suicide to be able to analyze the factors and reasons teenagers commit suicide. This research aims to find out the factors that cause the phenomenon of suicide among Japanese teenagers. The result of this research is that the factors of suicide among Japanese teenagers are factors related to the social relationship of a teenager to society. Loneliness, bullying, and depression are among the major causes of suicide among Japanese teenagers. With the increasing suicide rate in Japan, the Japanese government has done several things to reduce the rate such as creating a Minister of Loneliness to deal with the problem of suicide.
