Abstract

ABSTRAK
(Imel Putri. 26040119120010. Kelimpahan Zooplankton Eucalanidae
(Calanoida; Copepoda) di Perairan Banggai, Sulawesi Tengah. Widianingsih dan
Hadi Endrawati).
Perairan di Kepulauan Banggai merupakan salah satu laut yang dengan
fenomena kenaikan massa air atau upwelling pada periode tertentu. Peristiwa ini
menyebabkan meningkatnya kandungan zat hara pada perairan yang
mempengaruhi kelimpahan produsen primer dan produsen sekunder, salah satunya
zooplankton dari Famili Eucalanidae. Penelitian mengenai kelimpahan dan
keanekaragaman spesies zooplankton di perairan bagian timur Indonesia belum
banyak dilakukan, terutama studi tentang spesies-spesies dari Famili Eucalanidae.
Berdasarkan keterangan di atas, perlu dikaji keberadaan dan kelimpahan
Eucalanidae. Sampel zooplankton diambil pada 35 stasiun dengan menggunakan
planktonet secara aktif vertikal. Pengamatan dan pengambilan foto spesies plankon
dilakukan di bawah mikroskop stereo dan mikroskop binokuler dengan perbesaran
40x dan 100x. Hasil pencacahan kemudian diolah dengan Ms. Excel untuk
mengetahui kelimpahan dan indeks ekologi komunitas Famili Eucalanidae. Hasil
yang didapatkan adalah terdapat 7 spesies dari Famili Eucalanidae di Perairan
Banggai, Sulawesi Tengah, yakni Eucalanus elongatus, Pareucalanus attenuatus,
Subeucalanus mucronatus, Subeucalanus crassus, Subeucalanus subcrassus,
Rhincalanus corntus, dan Rhincalanus nasutus. Kelimpahan spesies Famili
Eucalanidae di Perairan Banggai, Sulawesi Tengah cukup beragam dengan rata-rata
254,68 Ind/m3 per stasiun. Analisis indeks ekologi menunjukkan komunitas Famili
Eucalanidae di Perairan Banggai memiliki keanekaragaman sedang, keseragaman
yang tidak merata hingga cukup merata, dan dominasi yang rendah.

The waters surrounding Banggai Islands are one of the oceanic regions in
Indonesia with periodic upwelling, a phenomenon that leads to an increase in
nutrient concentration. This significantly impacts the abundance of primary and
secondary producers, including zooplankton from the Eucalanidae family.
However, research focusing on the abundance and species diversity of zooplankton
in the eastern waters of Indonesia, particularly within the Eucalanidae family,
remains limited. Therefore, it is imperative to investigate the presence and
abundance of Eucalanidae in these waters. Zooplankton samples were collected
using a plankton net at 36 different stations. Plankton species were observed and
examined under a stereo microscope with a magnification of 4 x 10. Then specimen
photographs were taken under a binocular microscope at magnifications of 40x and
100x. The collected data were then processed and analyzed using Ms. Excel to
determine the species diversity and abundance of Eucalanidae
(Calanoida;Copepoda). The results revealed the presence of 7 species from the
Eucalanidae family in the Banggai Waters, namely Eucalanus elongatus,
Pareucalanus attenuatus, Subeucalanus mucronatus, Subeucalanus crassus,
Subeucalanus subcrassus, Rhincalanus corntus, and Rhincalanus nasutus. The
abundance of Eucalanidae species in the Banggai Waters, Central Sulawesi, is
quite diverse, with an average of 254.68 individuals/ m3 per station. The results of
the ecological index analysis indicate that the Eucalanidae Family community in
the Banggai Waters has a moderate diversity, uneven to fairly even uniformity, and
low dominance.
