Pantai Melasti terletak di Pesisir Barat Lampung yang berhadapan langsung dengan Samudra Hindia, potensi wilayah pesisir Pantai Melasti mencakup potensi sumberdaya hayati, non-hayati dan wisata. Pantai Melasti memiliki kesesuaian yang tinggi untuk dijadikan lokasi ekowisata, kondisi pantai yang ramai akan aktivitas pariwisata dan sosial ekonomi, menjadikan Pantai Melasti menarik untuk dikaji lebih dalam, yang selanjutnya diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai data tambahan dalam pengembangan ekowisata itu sendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengevaluasi berbagai parameter lingkungan oseanik dan pantai yang bekerja di Pantai Melasti berdasarkan standar Indeks Kesesuaian Wisata. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan referensi Indeks Kesesuaian Wisata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perairan melasti memiliki tipe pantai berpasir, rata-rata gisik sebesar 24,3 m. Kedalaman rata-rata perairan 0,883 m yang bermaterialkan karang berpasir dengan tanpa adanya biota berbahaya. Pantai Melasti memiliki rata-rata kemiringan sebesar 8,6 derajat yang berupa lahan terbuka dan beberapa pohon kelapa. Air tawar tersedia pada jarak rata-rata 0,126 m. Kecerahan perairan Pantai Melasti adalah 97,6% dengan kecepatan arus sebesar 0,031 m/s, kondisi ini sesuai dengan rata-rata nilai Indeks Kesesuaian Wisata sebesar 96,667%.

Melasti Beach is located on the West Coast of Lampung which is directly opposite the Indian Ocean, the potential of the coastal area of Melasti Beach includes biological, non-biological and tourism resources. Melasti Beach has a high suitability to be used as an ecotourism location, the condition of the beach is crowded with tourism and socio-economic activities, making Melasti Beach interesting to study more deeply, which in turn is expected to be used as additional data in the development of ecotourism itself. This study aims to identify and evaluate various parameters of the oceanic and coastal environment that work at Melasti Beach based on the Tourism Suitability Index standard. This research uses quantitative methods with reference to the Tourism Suitability Index. The results showed that Melasti waters have a sandy beach type, the average shoal is 24.3 m. The average water depth is 0.883 m. The average water depth is 0.883 m with sandy coral material with no harmful biota. Melasti Beach has an average slope of 8.6 degrees in the form of open land and some coconut trees. Fresh water is available at an average distance of 0.126m. The brightness of Melasti Beach waters is 97.6% with a current speed of 0.031 m/s, this condition is in accordance with the average Tourism Suitability Index value of 96.667%.
