Ikan nilem (Osteochilus hasselti) merupakan ikan endemik Indonesia yang memiliki potensi dan nilai strategis untuk dikembangkan menjadi komoditas unggulan ikan air tawar, namun derajat penetasan telur ikan nilem rendah karena
ketidakmampuan telur untuk berkembang dan melakukan metabolisme untuk membentuk organ – organ dalam tubuh. Perlu adanya teknologi pengelolaan telur untuk meningkatkan derajat penetasan telur ikan nilem. Salah satunya adalah
dengan perendaman tiroksin pada telur. Tiroksin memproduksi kelenjar tiroid yang berperan dalam mempercepat proses metamorfosis serta merangsang perkembangan dan pertumbuhan ikan terutama pada fase kritis yaitu pada fase
embrio dan larva. Perendaman tiroksin dapat meningkatkan derajat penetasan dari telur ikan nilem. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh hormon tiroksin terhadap organogenesis dan derajat penetasan telur ikan nilem. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan 24-27 Februari 2021 di Loka PBIAT Ngrajek, Magelang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) 2 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan yaitu A (tanpa tiroksin) dan B (tiroksin). Dosis tiroksin yang digunakan adalah 0,1 mg/L. Data yang diamati meliputi perkembangan telur, derajat penetasan telur dan kualitas air. Hasil menunjukkan daya tetas telur pada A sebesar 62.45±4.42% dan perlakuan B sebesar 78.85±4.60%. Kualitas air suhu 25,7-29,2oC, DO 5,0-6,5 mg/L dan pH 67. Perendaman tiroksin pada telur ikan nilem berbeda nyata (P<0,05) terhadap derajat penetasan telur ikan nilem (O. hasselti) serta mempercepat 3 jam pada penetasan telur ikan nilem.

Nilem (Osteochilus hasselti) is an endemic fish to Indonesia that has the potential and strategic value to be developed into a leading freshwater fish commodity, but the hatching rate of nilem eggs is low due to the inability of the eggs to develop and carry out metabolism to form organs in the body. There is a need for egg management technology to increase the hatching rate of Nilem eggs. One of them is by immersing thyroxine in eggs. Thyroxine is produced by the thyroid gland and plays a role in accelerating the process of metamorphosis and stimulating the development and growth of fish, especially in the critical phase, namely the embryonic and larval phases. Thyroxine immersion can increase the hatching rate of nilem eggs. The study aims to find out the influence of the hormone thyroxine on the organogenesis and hatching rate of nilem eggs. The research was carried out on February 24-27 2021 at the PBIAT Ngrajek site in Magelang. The study used experimental methods with a complete random design (RAL) 2 treatments and 3 repetitions. Treatments used are A (without thyroxine) and B (tiroksin). The dose of thyroxine used is 0.1 mg/L. The observed data included the development of eggs, the degree of ovulation, and water quality. The results showed
A egg droplet capacity was 62.45±4.42% and B treatment was 78.85±4.60%. The water quality temperature is 25.7–29.2oC, DO 5.0–6.5 mg/L, and pH 6-7. Thyroxine absorption in nilem eggs differs significantly (P<0,05) compared to the degree of incubation of nilem eggs (O. hasselti) as well as accelerating 3 hours in incubations.
