Abstract
ABSTRAK
(Anisa Dwi Aprilia. 26020118120018.

ABSTRACT
(Anisa Dwi Aprilia. 26020118120018. The Effects of Yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) in Feed on the Total Feed Consumption, Fee Utilization Efficiency, and Growth of Snakehead (Channa striata) Juveniles. Subandiyono and Diana Rachmawati).
Snakehead (Channa striata) is type freshwater fish that has potential to cultivated because has high economic value, able to survive at low DO and pH. Snakehead cultivation still experiencing problems, namely the growth of this fish still slow. Effort increase the growth of snakehead by adding yeast to feed. Addition yeast in feed can increase digestibility nutrients thereby increasing feed utilization and fish growth. The purpose this study was analyze effect of adding yeast in feed on total feed consumption, feed utilization efficiency, and growth of snakehead. This study used completely randomized design (RAL) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment used was the addition yeast to commercial feed at doses of 0, 1, 2, and 3 g/kg feed, each for treatments A, B, C, and D. The test fish used was snakehead measuring 6,540,32 cm with average weight 2,16±0,18 g. Snakehead are kept in plastic bucket measuring 30 liters with stocking density 15 tails/bucket and reared for 42 days with feeding method at satiation. The parameters were total feed consumption (TKP), feed utilization efficiency (EPP), protein efficiency ratio (PER), relative growth rate (SGR), and survival rate (SR). The results showed the addition yeast in feed had significant effect (P<0.05) on TKP, EPP, PER, and SGR; but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on SR of snakehead. Based the results of study was the addition yeast at doses 2 and 3 g/kg feed (treatments C and D) each of which resulted TKP (52,98±1,48 and 51,38±1,53 g), EPP (47,32±4,86% and 43,13±1,77%), PER (1,34±0,14% and 1,15±0,05%), and RGR (1,85±0,23%/day and 1,63±0,07%/day). These values are higher than the values in treatments A and B. The conclusion this study is addition yeast up to doses of 2 g/kg feed can increase value TKP, EPP, PER, and SGR; but produce same value SR of snakehead.
