Abstract

Educators have not utilized and integrated technology in classroom learning activities,
educators still dominantly use classical (conventional) learning media in delivering material
and are constrained by teaching materials from the center which are still limited. So it is
necessary to have learning media that can support the implementation of the Independent
Curriculum which emphasizes the use of digital technology. The purpose of this research is to
explain the making of English E-Module for 7th grade students at Tahfizhul Qur’an Pangeran
Diponegoro Junior High School. There is one problem in the English learning process on
Greetings, Leave Taking and Introductions material. The problem is that students consider
English as a lesson that is difficult for them to understand and the lack of application of the
use of English related to the pronunciation of meeting Greetings, Leave Taking and
Introductions in English in everyday life especially in the school environment. In this case,
electronic module is one of the options that can be used as an interesting learning media and
the right solution. This research was conducted at Tahfizhul Qur’an Pangeran Diponegoro
Junior High School, using the 4D model which consists of define, design, develop and
disseminate stages. The instruments used in this research are material expert validation sheets,
media experts, and student response questionnaires. The results of this study produced an
English E-module worth using with average results by media experts 100% with a valid
category, and material experts 87.5% valid category. The data obtained shows the assessment
data by students as much as 96.1% stating that the material presented in the English E-Module
is easy to understand and the steps of presenting the material in the English E-Module help
students understand the concepts in the Greetings, Leave Taking and Introductions material.
