Abstract

Nglanggeran Tourism Village has extraordinary natural beauty and many
traditions, such as oral traditions. The understanding of oral traditions in Nglanggeran
Village still needs to be improved. Nglanggeran people only know in general, especially
the younger generation. Media is needed to provide information about oral traditions.
Therefore, the idea of this study was to make oral traditions ethnophotography books in the
Nglanggeran tourism village. It aims to preserve oral traditions and as an information media
for the local people or tourists about the oral traditions there. This book contains photos
and narrations in Indonesian and English. In creating the oral traditions ethnophotography
book in Nglanggeran Tourism Village, this study used qualitative research with an
ethnography approach that requires researchers to be part of the community. Data
collection was used in in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The data that
has been collected is then analyzed by carrying out data reduction, data display, and
drawing conclusions. The result of this study is an oral traditions ethnophotography book
in Indonesian and English. It explained the Origin of Nglanggeran Village, Kalisong, and
Mount Pendem. When the oral traditions ethnophotography book in Nglanggeran Tourism
Village is done, it is made sure that book can be functional, so the book can be one of the
information media used by local people and tourists to understand oral traditions in
Nglanggeran Tourism Village. Future research is expected to develop a more thorough
topic of discussion using other media.
