Abstract

This study aims to analyze Robusta coffee farming activities which consist of land maintenance, plant
maintenance, harvesting, to post-harvest and to analyze the differences in production costs, production,
revenue, and income between farmer members and non-members of farmer groups. The research method
was conducted by survey method. The total population is 1,134 people consisting of 448 farmer group
members and 686 non-group member farmers. Determining the number of samples using the Sugiarto
formula so that 125 samples were obtained. The method of determining the sample using a stratified
random sampling technique. The sample of farmer group members is 50 people and non-member farmers
are 75 people. Primary data were obtained through interviews based on questionnaires with farmer
members and non-members of farmer groups who were respondents and secondary data obtained through
literature review and scientific publications relevant to the problems studied. The data obtained were
analyzed by descriptive and quantitative analysis through cost analysis, income analysis, and independent
sample t test to test the hypothesis. The results showed that the average income of farmer group members
was IDR 22,101,953/0.87 ha or the equivalent of IDR 25,404,544/ha/year and non-member farmer groups
IDR 11,904,275/0 .57 ha or equivalent to IDR 20,884,694/ha/year. The results of the analysis test showed
that there was an average difference in the production costs and income of farmer group members and
non-members and there was no average difference in the production and income of farmer group members
and non-members.
