Radiocesium berada di lingkungan laut berasal dari jatuhan atmosferik
(global fallout) akibat dari kecelakaan PLTN di Chernobyl dan Fukushima pada
tahun 1986 dan 2011 lalu. Radionuklida
137
Cs memiliki sifat konservatif sehingga
dapat menyebar hingga ke perairan global. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk
mengetahui tingkat aktivitas dan sebaran
137
Cs pada air laut dan sedimen, serta
mengetahui nilai koefisien distribusi
137
Cs. Sampel air dan sedimen
dikumpulkan dari perairan Muara Cisadane, Teluk Jakarta. Aktivitas
137
Cs diukur
menggunakan Spektrometer Gamma HPGe Canberra 3000 di laboratorium Badan
Tenaga Nuklir Nasional dengan aktivitas
137
Cs pada sampel air yaitu berkisar
antara 0.30-1.12 Bq/l, dan
137
Cs pada sampel sedimen berkisar antara 0.60-1.22
Bq/kg. Konsentrasi koefisien distribusi
137
Cs yang berkisar antara 0.65-3.40 L/kg
dengan rata-rata 1.401 L/kg.

Radiocesium in the marine environment comes from the global fallout as
a result of the nuclear power plant accidents at Chernobyl and Fukushima in
1986 and 2011. Radionuclide
137
Cs has conservative properties so that it can
spread to global waters. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of
activity and distribution of
137
Cs in seawater and sediments, and to determine the
distribution coefficient of
137
Cs. Water and sediment samples were collected from
the waters of Muara Cisadane, Jakarta Bay. Activity
137
Cs measured using
Gamma HPGe Canberra 3000 spectrometer in the National Nuclear Energy
Agency laboratory with activity of
137
Cs in water samples ranging from 0.30-1.12
Bq/l, and
137
Cs in sediment samples ranging from 0.60-1.22 Bq/kg. The
distribution coefficient concentration is
137
Cs which ranges from 0.65-3.40 L/kg
with an average of 1,401 L/kg.
