Abstract

The high mortality and morbidity rate of COVID-19 in Indonesia is still a major health problem that must be resolved immediately. Health workers as the front line in handling COVID-19 patients have a high risk of being exposed to COVID-19. Based on data on the number of health workers confirmed for COVID-19, the number is quite high. As of July 1, 2020, health workers at a hospital in Central Java who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 reached 142 people and by the end of 2021 there were 2124 people. The purpose of this study was to find out what factors influence the incidence of COVID-19 in health workers in one of the hospitals in Central Java. This research is a correlational quantitative study with a case-control approach. Research respondents amounted to 70 people in the case group and 70 people in the control group according to the specified criteria which were selected by a simple random sampling method. Data was collected through questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Data analysis was performed using chi-square and qualitative analysis. The results showed that knowledge (p=0,731), attitude (p=0,309), work environment behavior (p=0,735), living environment behavior (p=0,602), policy (p=1,000), work pattern (p=0,059), PPE (p=0,443), Sanitation (p=0,735), the physical condition of the work environment (p=0,277) and physical condition of the living environment (p=1,000) were not related to the incidence of COVID-19 in health workers at this Hospital.
